I have made good progress this week on my “Yellow Cubes” quilt. All the yellow squares are quilted with pebbles. I am quilting the sides with zig-zag lines.
Quilting the pebbles and zig-zag lines became a bit repetitive and my mind started to wonder. Of the fabrics in this quilt, this is one of my favorites.

I thought the texture would make a great background filler. So, I tried sketching it out.
Here is a practice piece. I started out small and then did some larger. I decided to use the larger size in the lighter grey sections of the backgound.

Love your pebbles and the shading on the side.
I think your addition of the zigzag quilting on the grey really adds to the look of a 3 dimension block.
